12 YEARS IN MIND : REMEMBRANCE OF A POLITICAL ROLE MODEL- LATE RT. HON. AREREBO GOODGOD SALACO SNR. ALIAS AMERICAN LIFE
Have you ever asked yourself the kind of legacy you would leave behind when you depart this sinful world that people will celebrate you even in death?.
Today Sunday 29th March we remember a fallen hero whose heroic deeds will forever live in the heart of men; not only Ayakoromites but the entirety of the Ijaw Nation.
Sometimes, we ask God Almighty the inevitability of death in a bid to justify the reasons of decryng man's worst foe (death).
Consider this for meticulous evaluation, life is short but the art of life is very long, there is so much we cant understand because we're only characters in a story and our horizon is so narrow and dark. People bcome dreamers when they are not satisfied wth their reality and sometimes they do not know what is real until they begin to dream.

Late Hon. Arerebo GoodGod Salaco Snr was born in 1950, he attended Ngbilebiri Primary School, Ayakoromo and Ayakoromo grammar school, Ayakoromo. He proceeded to College of Education, Warri where he studied Mathematics/Chemistry, he graduated successfully. He later proceeded to Delta State University, Abraka to study Mechanical Engineering. His excellent academic performances, socialiness and generosity made him a friend to people from diverse cultural background.
Late Rt. Hon. Arerebo GoodGod Salaco Snr. Alias American Life began his political career in his home town Ayakoromo whose servitude to the good people of Ayakoromo was highly commended. His selfless dedication to d service of humanity yielded much needed growth and development; socially, politically, religiously, ecnomically, to mention bt a few.
Ayakoromo Federated Community as a fast developing community needed to adopt some modern developmental trends, and so the need to build a "Radio House" was applausibly raised by the late ICON-a Role Model. It was inanimously agreed by the then community governing council. The locally built "Radio House" conveys vital public information to present dwellers of d community till date.
He promoted the Ayakoromo Annual Festival (OLOROGUN) by taking helm of the social events in preceedence to the principal event. He financially sponsored these events: football marches, race of different kinds; sack race, canoe race, etc thereby giving aesthetical look to the festival which attracted sons and daughters of Ayakoromo far and near to be in attendance.
He strived to develop grassroot sport of different kinds: football, basketball, handball, volleyball, etc.Through this, he as well promoted peace and love among youths by incorporating them into one sport team or the other. His jovialness, sociality, friendliness and other salient virtues made him win the people mandate when he declared his intention to run for the Ayakoromo ward 7 councilorship elections of 1998 during Mrs. Felicia Orunagha's led administration. He served only one year in the Burutu Legislative arm. The supposed four years came to an abrupt end as a result of President Sani Abacha's death in 1999. He contested and was elected again into the legislative arm for the second time during Dr. Braduce Amakazi's Angozi led administration.
Moreover, during the Hon. Braduce Angozi led administration, the electorates insisted he should represent them for the third time because of his commendable deeds.
It was a melancholy . Tears crept down millio cheeks as the news of the death of the political ICON was told. He (Rt. Hon. Arerebo GoodGod Salaco Snr) died on the 29th March, 2003 in a fatal motor accident on a journey to his hometown (Ayakoromo) from a political function (meeting) in Warri. The friendly climate and atmosphere changed abruptly as elegies and dirges flew out from sympathisers to paint the environment of its anguish. My pen dances in stream of tears.......
Late Rt. Hon. Arerebo GoodGod Salaco Snr was a servant-leader; a great loss to the family and the Ijaw Nation at large. He actually portrayed the meaning of true leadership. He spelt out the roles and responsibilities of a leader through his exhibitions. Politics is an usher of growth and development of a society i presumed but it's crystal clear dat many hold dis with discrepant views.
To lay to rest the furiously dancing pen in the shelf of memory, I wish to acknowledge with extreme sincerity that Rt. Hon. Arerebo GoodGod Salaco Snr died a hero. His political heroic exploits and others would b remembered as we last on earth.
As we continues to remember Late Rt. Hon. Arerebo GoodGod Salaco Snr even in death, let us all- leaders alike in different spheres of life; political, religious, social, educational, etc emulate the legacy the footprint left behind by d fallen ICON.
Continue to Rest In Peace Of The Lord Big Uncle! My Pen Shall Continously Celebrate You.
